Every hot tub is different in its electrical requirements. Please check each manufacturer site and the owners manual for your spa listed for specific electrical requirements. We always recommend using a qualified electrician for all of you electrical needs. Always contact us if you have questions about electrical requirements.
We recommend that you never bury your pigtail from your subpanel to your hot tub. This includes running under the deck. Hot tubs are built to hold a lot of weight and the bottoms of spas cannot be compromised. Our technicians will make sure that the pigtail is hidden as much as possible when installing the hot tub.
In most cases no it is not required, however sometimes there is no alternative. When we collect site photos we can determine at that time if a crane is required.
If your spa’s pad is slightly sloped, it will not affect the performance of the spa or its structure; however, there should be no dips, sags, or unevenness in the pad. Most patios are built to slope away from the house for drainage purposes. There should be a maximum of ½” (1.27cm) slope in an 8‘ (2.44m) run. Do not use shims to level the spa, this could create tension on the spa shell which might result in damaging your spa.
Because your spa pad must provide continuous support for the entire base of the spa, you should never level it with shims. If it is necessary to level your spa, make sure the entire spa’s structure is fully supported, both in the center as well as the outer edge. When leveling your spa, there should be no voids beneath it. Contact your authorized Bullfrog Spa dealer before making any leveling adjustments. Structural damage to the spa resulting from incorrect installation, placement on an inadequate foundation, or improper leveling will void the spa’s warranty.
Our technicians will hook up your spa to the pigtail provided by your electrician. (Improper electrical setups will have an extra charge for any additional service we have to perform)
Once the spa is attached our techs will give you a thorough spa school in which they will go over the following:
Operating the Spa
Operating the Accessories
Use of alternative sanitation (Saltwater, Frog Systems, Minerals Systems, if equipped)
